Scion FR-S

This is a naturally aspirated 2.0 liter Boxer with a flat four mated for either an automatic transmission or a six-speed manual.

FT-S rides on sharp 20 inch wheels thereby hiding an atrocious set of 18-inch carbon ceramic brake rotors that are fixed to the wheels as like a motorcycle.

2011 Morgan 3 Wheeler

The Morgan Motor Company fully revealed the Threewheeler at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show.

In Goodwood Festival of Speed 2011 Morgan 3 Wheeler is the most remarkable vehicle among all.

The iconic design of the Morgan Threewheeler has been updated with 21st Century technology.

The powertrain is a V Twin fuel injected engine mated to a Mazda 5 speed (and reverse) gearbox.

It is designed like a powerful missile at the front leading to a beetle back tail at the rear.

The bullet shape and the exposed bodywork and aluminium tub are accompanied by the aeroplane profile of the car’s sides.

From the design viewpoint, the focus was set on making the car as close to an aeroplane as possible, while retaining handy extra space for driver, passenger and a hold all in the rear.

A leather padded cockpit along with aircraft instrumentation adds to the sense of flying on the road.

The car is easy to control with a perfect view ahead and to the rear.

Its weight is estimated to be less than 500 kilograms (1,102 lb), the acceleration from zero to 60 miles per hour (97 km/h) occurs in 4.5 seconds, with a top speed of 115 miles per hour (185 km/h).

Rinspeed sQuba - World's first under water car

The sQuba, developed by Swiss company Rinspeed, is the world's first car that can be driven both on land and under water.
Thirty years after the thriller movie "The Spy Who Loved Me" sQuba is the first car that can actually ‘fly’ under water.
sQuba is a zero emission electric vehicle with three electric motors - one for land travel, two for water. Autonomous cruise control system is also there to allow autonomous operation.

On land it is powered by its electric rear-wheel drive powertrain by using rechargeable lithium-ion batteries.
Upon entering water, it floats on the surface until the operator floods the interior to submerge it.

It can sink to a depth of 10 metres (33 ft), powered by twin electric-powered propellers supplemented by two Seabob water jets. The car's top speed is

  • On Land - 120 km/h (75 mph)
  • On the surface of water - 6 km/h (3.2 kn; 3.7 mph)
  • Underwater - 3 km/h (1.6 kn; 1.9 mph)

The open cockpit design is intended to allow the occupants to escape easily in case of emergency. Without occupants, the sQuba will surface automatically. The vehicle's interior is water and salt resistant hence it can be driven in the ocean.

Maruti Suzuki in talks with workers as strike halts production

MUMBAI: Maruti Suzuki said on Monday its management was in talks with workers at its plant in the northern state of Haryana where a strike has disrupted production.

Production at the Manesar plant, which produces about 1200 vehicles a day, has been halted after a section of workers went on strike on Saturday, said a spokesman for Maruti.

Around 800 workers went on strike demanding the recognition of a new union, Maruti Suzuki Employees Union , the spokesman said.

"We are still trying to understand what their grievance is... We've had no discussions with them on this subject ever," R.C. Bhargava, chairman of Maruti Suzuki told television channel NDTV Profit.

Bhargava said the management was in talks with the workers to find a solution, but did not give a timeline as to when the strike was expected to be called off.

At present, the company, 54.2 percent owned by Japan's Suzuki Motor Corp , has one workers' union that is recognized by the management, Maruti Udyog Kamgar Union .

"It's more surprising that one month ahead of the elections this kind of thing should happen," Bhargava said, referring to the existing union's elections to be held next month.

Last year, Maruti Managing Director Shinzo Nakanishi said the company was looking to advance its capacity expansion plans to meet booming demand in the fast-growing south Asian country.
